Jeff Williams
I’m a happy southern California native! My early years were filled with summer camping trips to Yosemite, family gatherings, trouble-making with friends, and explorative attempts to fit in.
I started my work in the healthcare field in 2002 working with severely emotionally disabled teens at a San Diego area group home. Since that time, I’ve held Assistant Director, Clinical Supervisor, Case Management Supervisor, In-home Therapist, and Outpatient Therapist roles in a variety of settings. Over the past 10+ years, my primary focus has been individual, couples, and family therapy.
I’m fortunate to have trained 300+ hours over a 3 year period in Structural Family Therapy with Dr. Stephen Greenstein, former Chief Psychologist and Director of Training at Minuchin’s Philadelphia Child Guidance Clinic. Throughout the years, I’ve come to a firm belief that family healing can lead to individual healing.
In individual therapy, I regularly treat depression, bipolar disorder, relationship issues, trauma, anxiety, existential/identity dilemmas, and am experienced with substance abuse needs. I see individuals 10 years and up, couples, and families. Therapeutic approaches, which vary depending on the needs presented, include Cognitive Behavioral, Dialectical Behavioral, Emotion-Focused, Structural Family, and Bowen Systems Therapy.
Outside of the office, you can find me contemplating with the sun on my face, hanging with family and friends, enjoying music, pruning fruit trees, and looking for short, revitalizing adventures. In the office, you can expect a warm personality, blending thought and heart through a sensitive, yet direct approach. I look forward to the journey ahead!
